Day 2, the Whole30 Hangover
~gives self a high-five for sticking with it through two days~
Alright, here we go. Day two is just about complete as I finished dinner, which was excellent by the way, and shoveled all my sidewalks and patios of the 4 inches of snow we’ve received this evening. Going to hold off on the driveway as I can’t really see with all the sweat dripping into my eyes.
Day two is supposedly about “the hangover”, which is exponentially as sucky as the amount of crap you put into your body before the Whole30 program. This statement made me think of one of my favorite quotes from Norman Maclean. “The world is full of bastards, the number increasing rapidly the further one gets from Missoula, Montana.”
Luckily, I felt pretty dang good all day, besides the sweaty part of shoveling the snow. This must mean I didn’t put a lot of crap into my body before Whole30. I’m no scientist, but knowing how much beer I put into my system the 4-5 days earlier, I can only conclude, scientifically of course, that beer is not crap… Mic Drop!
That is where I should end today’s recap but I’ll go a bit further and just say that I have this confidence and excitement about eating healthy, I’m quite impressed. I’m even planning on things continuing beyond the 30 days. WHAT? Keep in mind, I have only done this for two days so with these thoughts, I feel I am being sucked into some sort of cult and there isn’t anything I can do about it. BUT, it helps keep me on track so I’ll continue thinking I am winning some sort of competition.
I drank kombucha for the first time last night served in a nice beer mug. Made me feel classy as shit, like I was drinking a fine wine around a fire-place sitting in a leather recliner smelling of sweet mahogany. It was no replacement for a good beer but a nice change from water and LaCroix.
Time to watch some tv and relax. Night folks.
[Morning edit] The hangover kicked in just as I went to bed and lasted through most of the night… similar to an all day binger. Woke up feeling good though… what kind of messed up hangover is this? Healthy, I’m being healthy… go me!
